What kind of music do you prefer? I love rock music because of many characteristics. I think rock music can provide a strong effect in people. Although rock music has a lot of subgenres, it has its own essence. Instruments, rhythm and lyrics are important characteristics of rock music.
Rock music has different instruments which are guitar, drums and bass. I think guitar is the most important instrument in rock music. I fell very excited when I listen to a guitar in a rock song, especially if it has distortion. I think it gives a thunderous sound to rock music. Drums are also important because give the tempo to rock music. All the others instruments need to follow the drums, so when this play a powerful solo, the other instruments need to wait the final cymbal crash to continue. In addition bass is very important in a rock song because it gives density to the music. When I am listening to a rock song, I can feel the bass resounding in my body, and it makes me jump.
Another important aspect of rock music is its rhythm. The basic rhythm of rock music has four beats in the drums, over one hundred beats per minute. For this reason rock music is fast, and it stimulates me to move my body. Although rock music is mainly comprised of four beats, some important rock bands dare to play with five, seven or nine beats in their songs. Then it makes rock music to be original. Usually the kick drum is played two or three times in a loop, so it gives strength to the music, and it is possible to dance.

The last important characteristic that makes this genre be special is the lyrics of its songs. The lyrics are very important because they talk about strong feelings, so they can talk about something very annoying, or something you love with all your heart. When I listen to a rock song with good lyrics it fills me with energy, and makes me be more intense. In addition, rock music sometimes allows swear words, for this reason there is no limit to express your feelings.
Rock music is something I love because of its characteristics. It encourages me to express my feelings, to move my body and to be an intense person. I think it is the best music genre in the world. For this reason it has a lot of subgenres, and it can vary a little bit in some aspects, but all those genres have the same essence. Although rock music can be only listened to, it affects all your senses.
